We thank you all for your patience during these challenging times. While it's disappointing that the Buckeye Travel Hockey League will not be having a season, we fully understand and support their decision. On top of that, we have also reviewed the Contact Sport orders that were just recently published by the State of Ohio. We believe that, even with these additional regulations, the DHA can still offer you, the members, a fun and safe experience for your players.
The 2020-2021 season will continue without the organizational aspects of a league. This means that each team will be responsible for scheduling their own games. Coaches and Managers will still be able to use the Buckeye Travel Hockey League website for contact information and tracking results. The DHA will assist our volunteer coaches as much as possible.
While we plan to move forward, this will not be without challenges, and this season will be different from previous seasons. In order to have a successful season we need our participants and their families to be flexible and cooperate with State of Ohio and individual rink guidelines. We will be working with our coaches and team managers to ensure that they are ready for the season and the challenges involved. The DHA will also be providing information regarding all guidelines to families.
We plan to open registration shortly. The pricing for this season will be lower for most of our age divisions (excluding JV and Varsity) due the elimination of league fees and reduced ice costs due to the elimination of seeding and end-of-season tournaments. Pricing includes socks. Uniforms are not included and can be ordered separately. You may use your uniforms from last year as long as they are serviceable and there are no number conflicts. Please coordinate jersey numbers with your coach. Due to COVID-19 we will not be able to offer uniform fittings for this season. The pricing for the upcoming season is:
You will still have the option of paying in full when you register or you can elect a payment plan. One quarter will be due at registration and three equal payments will be made on the 5th of October, November and December. All fees must be paid in full by December 15th to avoid player suspension. All payments will be made online through SportsEngine. Registration will close on September 16th. We are still finalizing the practice schedule with the rinks but tentatively plan on starting practices the week of September 21st. We will take the weeks of December 21st and 28th off for our holiday break. The last week of regular season practice will be the week of February 22nd.
