  4. Only one (1) parent/guardian per player will be permitted to accompany the player for evaluations. NO siblings or other children are permitted to accompany the player and parent/guardian.
  5. Players should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled age group.
  6. Players and parent/guardian MUST exit the building no more than 15 minutes following their scheduled age session.
  7. Avoid bringing extra personal items/bags/valuables/etc. into the rink.

  9. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as much as possible.
  10. Practice social distancing at all times.

If you are volunteering to help during evaluations and have a child in the program, please make separate transportation arrangements for your child. Unfortunately, we cannot permit them to be at the rink for multiple hours as we have in previous years.

*Please note that the rink is prohibiting outside food and beverages, except water, so do NOT bring food or drinks in with you.

If you need your skates sharpened or anything else at the rink (including food/drinks), please be prepared to pay electronically (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay) to reduce the exchange of cash and cards.

You will be asked the following questions as you check in for your age division:

  1. Have you or anyone in your household had a fever within the last 14 days?
  2. Have you or anyone in your household been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 30 days?

If your answer to either of these questions is yes, we ask that you not come to the rink at all for evaluations. We will work to be sure your player is placed on a team, but want to avoid putting anyone at risk.

DHA is putting in place as many precautions as possible to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Even with these precautions in place, DHA cannot eliminate all risk associated with COVID-19. By choosing to participate in DHA sponsored events, participants are assuming the risk that they may contract COVID-19 at these events despite DHA's best efforts to provide a clean and safe environment.

Important Evaluation Notes:

  • Online, advance registration for evaluations is mandatory. This requirement provides DHA the opportunity to ensure we are properly prepared for the interest and participation at each age level. Please use the link at the bottom of this page to process your registration.

  • You must use your 2021-22 USA Hockey confirmation number to register for evaluations. If you do not have your 2021-22 number, please visit www.usahockey.com to register.

  • Evaluation fee is $40 for all age divisions and skill levels. The evaluation fee is non-refundable and non-applicable to 2021-22 season fees. Evaluation fees must be paid online at the time of registration for the evaluations.

  • 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School age divisions will be split into two groups for the first day of evaluations (May 15) for their respective age division. Your player will be assigned to either Group 1 or Group 2 in the appropriate age division. Any players requesting a skate-up will also be assigned to either Group 1 or Group 2 in the age division to which they wish to skate up.

  • Days 2 (May 16) and/or 3 (May 22) of evaluations will be by invitation only. Players will be notified via email which of those two days they should plan to attend.

  • Once all  sessions for each of the respective age divisions have been completed, invitations will be sent to players for team assignments. Players will be expected to accept their positions within the timelines outlined in the invitation email. Formal acceptance will be made by registering for the season, and making the first payment for your player's season registration fees.

  • FOR THE 2021-22 SEASON - DHA will only be accepting online registration fee payments. You will have the option of paying the season registration in full or paying in four (4) equal monthly payments when you register and accept your roster position for the season. If choosing to pay in four (4) equal payments, the first payment will be debited from your account when you register your player. The following three payments will be debited from your account on September 15, October 15, and November 15. Any player whose account is not paid in full by December 15 will be subject to suspension from all DHA activities until their account is brought into good standing.

  • If you wish to be evaluated in an advanced age division from your own (i. e. play-up) in either the A or B divisions for the 2021-22 hockey season, you must complete the formal play-up request and evaluation process BEFORE skating the evaluation for the advanced age division. This process is outlined and defined on the DHA Play-Up Procedure page where you will also find the request form.

  • If you are unable to attend an evaluation session for your age division, but are interested in being on a Dayton Stealth team, please contact Denise Porter at denise.porter@daytonstealth.com.

What to Expect After Evaluations

With these evaluations, DHA has two intentions:

  1. To place players on teams with like-skilled players whenever and to the extent which is possible.
  2. For players to be provided a score card through the evaluation process that shows them key skill areas where they may need to focus additional work. This information may then be shared with their coach so they may receive the instruction necessary improve these skill areas.

Following all evaluation sessions, players with accounts in good standing will receive an invitation for a roster spot on a specific team. Once an invitation is issued, players will have a specified period of time to accept this invitation. At the time of acceptance, you will be required to register your player for the 2021-22 season through our online full season registration portal, and make the first payment toward your player's full season registration fees.

Registration will require online payment for your season's fees. You will have the option to pay in full or pay in four (4) equal installments. Registration fees are non-refundable as outlined in DHA's fee policy.

Evaluation Schedule & Projected Team Info:

All DHA teams practice an average of at least twice per week. In addition to the on-ice work, individual coaches may require off-ice work. The respective coaches will be able to provide more insight on these aspects as players are invited to their teams.

The number of teams we roster within each age and skill division will be determined by the number of participants and the skill levels of those respective participants. Final decisions regarding the number of teams will not be made until evaluations are underway and the coaches have had an opportunity to provide feedback.
