Evaluation Schedule & Projected Team Info:

All DHA teams practice an average of at least twice per week. In addition to the on-ice work, individual coaches may require off-ice work. The respective coaches will be able to provide more insight on these aspects as players are invited to their teams.

The number of teams we roster within each age and skill division will be determined by the number of participants and the skill levels of those respective participants. Final decisions regarding the number of teams will not be made until evaluations are underway and the coaches have had an opportunity to provide feedback.

8U (Mite):

We anticipate six (6) 8U teams consisting of one (1) white division team and five (5) blue division teams. We anticipate all these teams will compete in the Midwest Youth Hockey League, and they may also play in various independent tournaments throughout the season.

Our 8U white division head coach will be Jimmy Hassan. Rink preferences will not be applicable for players selected for this team.

Our 8U age division coaching staff will be rounded out with Ryan Henry, Mike Conlan, Brian Machi, Adam Hildebrand, and Andrew Ziehler. As always, we love to have a lot of coaches and on-ice helpers on the ice with the younger kids, so if you're interested in helping out on the ice, please let us know.

For the 8U blue division teams, we will do our best to honor rink preferences, but we cannot guarantee them based on ice availability and numbers requesting particular rinks.

High School Teams:

We anticipate two (2) or more high school teams. We will have  one (1) varsity level and one (1)  JV level team, each being rostered as Division II High School teams with the appropriate USA Hockey varsity or junior varsity designations. Both of these  teams will participate in their respective divisions of the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League. In addition to league participation, these teams will likely play a variety of exhibition games and independent tournaments.

If circumstances permit, a third team may be formed. Doing so will require sufficient player numbers, ice availability, and coaching staff. This determination will be made based upon player commitments following evaluations. If a third team is formed, it will play an independent (non-league) schedule against teams of comparable skill.

Players for these teams MUST be in high school grades 9 – 12. Players must also reside or attend school within the league assigned geographic boundaries/school districts (listed below). High school players from outside these areas are eligible for the third team if it is formed, and may be eligible for the league teams, but will have to petition the league for permission.
